Open DXF (AutoCAD) drawings on your phone
Check a floor plan, laser-cutting file or CNC drawing without AutoCAD.
DXF (Drawing Exchange Format) was created by Autodesk so that AutoCAD drawings could be shared with other programs. Today it is the common language of technical drawing: architects send floor plans as DXF, and laser-cutting, CNC routing and vinyl-cutting machines read DXF outlines.
DXF or DWG?
DWG is AutoCAD's own working format and changes between AutoCAD versions. DXF is the exchange format meant to be read by other software. If you receive a DWG and cannot open it, ask for the drawing to be saved as DXF (in AutoCAD: Save As โ AutoCAD DXF). JUST NODU opens DXF files.
Viewing a DXF with JUST NODU
- Go to justnodu.com and choose the .DXF AutoCAD Drawing card.
- Select the file; the drawing is shown as a sharp vector preview.
- Zoom in to check details, or download it as PDF or an image to share or print.
Tips for drawings that open cleanly
- Units: confirm whether the drawing is in millimetres, centimetres or inches. Cutting machines need the right units to cut at the right size.
- Text and fonts: CAD fonts (SHX) are not always available elsewhere. For cutting files, convert text to outlines in the original software.
- External references: drawings that use Xrefs need those files too. Ask the sender to bind them into the drawing before exporting.
- Clean up for cutting: remove dimensions, hatches and title blocks from files meant for a laser or CNC machine; the machine follows every line.
